Sri Raghavendra Vijaya – Chapter 6[71st sloka]:
Thanks to Sri G.B.Joshi for simple translation of the above sloka in English as given below,
As per the orders of Sri Moola Ramachandra Murthy, Sri Sudeendra Tirtha decided to give sanyashrama to well known and capable Sri Venkatanatha to rule the Vedanta samrajya. Thus Sri Sudeendra Tirtha bless, “May this Sri Raghavendra who tops the list of ascetics prosper with penances of Sri Surendra Tirtha, with the wealth and fame of Sri Vijayindra Tirtha and with my fame of dialectical skill“.
About the three great saints:
- Sri Sri Surendra Tirtha: Sri Sri Surendra Theertha (1504 – 1575) was the 14th yathigalu in Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt parampare. He was known as Sri Venkatakrishnacharya, in his poorvashrama. His Gurugalu is none other than Sri Raghunandna Theertharu(Hampi).Sri Sri Surendra Theertha took in charge of SRI mutt for nearly 70 years. As his charma sloka says,in course of his vow of fast, he went round the country thrice. He was a great Vairagyasali. Sri Surendra Theertha got Sri Vishnu Theertha, one of the brilliant and energetic student, from Sri Vyasarajaru and he was renamed as Sri Vijayindra Theertha. He made Sri Vijayindra Theertha as his next successor and also he entrusted the one Narayanacharya under Sri Vijayindra Theertha. Narayanacharya was later renamed as Sri Sudeendra Theertharu(Gurugalu of Sri Raghavendra Theertha).

Words from Sri Sudhindra Tirtha on his guru Sri Vijayindra Tirtha:
“Sri Vijayindra Tirtha has no defects,he was a complete pandit in Vedanta,Sastras. He was shining with all victores.Oh foolish opponent! When defeating Sri Swamiji is an impossible venture, how can you think to win over such a great saint?”
- Sri Sudhindra Tirtha: The great saint who showed the bright Sun(our Sri Raghavendra Swamin) to the World. Sri Sudheendra Teertharu who is the personification of fame and story and also has the blessed capacity of being the another of blemishless and wonderful granthas like “sahityasamrajya” and the like had been honoured by the king (many kings) of Karnataka by the performance of Ratnabhisheka (showering of priceless gems) not once but in several occasions.Click here to read more about Sri Sudhindra Tirtha.
