Sri Vyasarajaya theertharu moola brindhavan at Anegondi

अर्थिकल्पित कल्पॊयं प्रत्यर्थ गजकॆसरि।

व्यासतीर्थ गुरुर्भूयात् अस्मदिष्ठार्थ सिद्दयॆ

Sri Sri Vyâsa Tîrtharu is considered to be the third avatar of Shankukarna(i.e, before Mantralaya mahaprabhu Sri Raghavendra Theertharu). Today being the aradhanae mahotsava of one of the greatest Madwa saints, Sri Sri Vyasarayara theertharu, I would like to post this article on him. Let us pray him on this day, who will remove all our Sins.

Sri Vyasaraja Teertharu stayed at bhoolaka vaikuntam(Tirumala) for 12 years and did seva to the Lord and graciously handed over the the same to the archaka and left the place. Before leaving the holy precincts he had donated the Shesha Vahana which we see during the Brahmotsava every year.

Sri Vyasaraja was the favoured and respected Rajaguru of four emperors of historical Vijayanagar empire.  Sri Vyasaraja was also the guru of the likes of Kanakadasa and Purandaradasa. Over five hundred years ago Sri Vyasaraja consecrated 732 idols of Hanuman throughout our bharatha desha. Sri Sripadarajaru(Druva amshavada) was his Vidyaguru of Sri Vyasaraya Theertharu and Sri Vijayendra theertharu was his beautiful shishya.

Gurugunastavana-Sloka 7 by Sri Vadeendra Theertharu

Maayaatantraamararismayamapanayato madhvasiddhaantanaamno
netraaneevatrayopithrijagathi nrharerindhate yatprabandhaah |
Yadvagadvaithavidytaachalakulishapraudimaadaukate sah
sreyobhooyo vidadhyaatsumahitamhimaasamprati vyaasaraajah || 7

Meaning:May Sri Vyasaraja who is famous for his ratnatraya (Taatparya Chandrika, Nyaayaamrita and Tarkataandava) which resemble the three glowing eyes of Sri Narahari in the garb of Dvaita Siddhanta in obliterating the arrogance of Hiranyakashipu the foe of the gods who declared himself as god, as a Vajraayudhaa or the thunderbolt of Indra which could smother the Advaitic mountains, take compassion on me and bless me here and hereafter.
